Once dredged material is discharged into a reclamation area, land-based machinery spreads and compacts it. Because the machines work in sea water where sand acts like sandpaper, and engines run at maximum output, sturdy equipment is a requirement rather than a preference.
Alongside the earthmoving fleet, Gulf Cobla runs fully equipped container-type mobile workshops so standard maintenance can be carried out on site.
