What we run
Powerful and Reliable Dredging Fleet
- 0 Cutter suction dredgers
- 0 Hp Largest installed power
- 0 m Deepest dredging reach
- Owned Every unit, with our own crews
Our dredgers were designed and equipped for Middle East conditions.
Their electrical cutter drive and the sturdy design of the cutter ladder, spud carrier and pontoon allow these dredgers to be used in sand and rock.
The latest three additions were also prepared for the region. They complement the others for dredging in soft and medium dense sand, and suit smaller scale, shallow requirements. Garhoud Bay and Deira Bay have been upgraded over the years, mechanically and electrically.
The cutter suction dredgers
Every unit is owned outright and operated by Gulf Cobla crews.

And the plant around them
Auxiliary marine equipment, survey launches and land-based plant, so the full dredging and reclamation package comes from one contractor.
- Booster Stations A 2,500 hp booster set on 650 mm pipeline, dropped into the discharge run so spoil can be pumped further than a dredger will carry it alone.
- Work boats & auxiliary vessels Multicats, landing craft, split hopper barges, crane barges and work boats, owned and crewed by Gulf Cobla so the dredging spread stays self-supporting.
- Tug Boats Towage and general duties around the spread, including shifting pontoons, pipelines, and plant between working positions, as well as the mobilisation of dredgers through towage and other related activities.
- Dredge Pumps A 600 hp DOP unit on 300 mm pipeline for loose sand and sediment, where a full cutter suction dredger is more plant than the work needs.
- Survey Vessels Shallow-draft launches carrying multibeam and single beam echosounders, running the RTK hydrographic surveys that prove the dredged result.
- Transport Barges Flat-deck barges that carry pipeline, spares and plant out to the working spread, and hold it there when there is no quay to work off.
- Land Based Equipment The plant that turns a discharged slurry into a finished level: LGP dozers, excavators, loaders, and the workshops, offices and generators that keep a site running.
